Math House Games ~ review & giveaway

I had the privilege to review Carlito C. Caterpillar's Math House Games!  My 3 year old daughter and I spent a few days working on some of these fun games.  This is part of the Math House Games series, 20 Steps to Learning math is based on Domenico Marcario’s Sensory Math Teaching System.

Carlito C. Caterpillar’s Math Game Card Set includes 20 cards, which tell you how to play games to teach children math skills. Each card or “step’ includes two games to reinforce the math step. Games are divided into 3 stages, as follows:
  • Stage 1: Quantity: Learning to imagine, see, and feel numbers
  • Stage 2: Numeration: Learning place value and skip counting
  • Stage 3: Operations: Learning addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
My older children are both beyond the math concepts taught  in this game set, but the games work wonderfully for younger children!  My daughter's favorite game was "Hungry Lion."  Of course, what 3 year old wouldn't love learning math using food?  :)

We tried out several of the math cards, and found that most of them are great for her age group.  My 7 year old even tried out a few and really enjoyed learning and playing along with her younger sister.  Although at a cost of $23.95, I probably would not have chosen to purchase this set on my own; but now that we've tried it out, I really like it!  Also, I believe you get FREE shipping right now.
