Updated Review ~ Little Pim Language Learning Software for Children

Little Pim is a foreign language learning company that introduces children between the ages of 0 and 6 to a foreign language using DVDs, music CDs, flashcards, and books.
Little Pim was designed around the latest scientific research regarding language acquisition and brain development. The method combines the work  of  leading neuroscientist Dr. April Benasich, and Julia’s own experience as a language teacher, filmmaker and mother.

The Little Pim series uses the Entertainment Immersion Method®, which engages a child’s natural love of play and learning through repetition.

Re-Post ~ Children Learning Reading Program Update

http://www.childrenlearningreading.com/images/layout/top-kids.jpg

The first several years of your child's life are the most important for healthy brain development and growth. Critical aspects of a child's brain is established well before they enter school, and it is the experiences during these sensitive periods of development that play a critical role in shaping the capacities of the brain.

Through extensive research, testing, and trial and error the creators of ChildrenLearningReading.com developed a learning to read system that not only allowed them to teach their own children to read before turning 3 years old, but by the time their daughter was just 4 years 2 months old, she was already reading at a grade 3 level.

They now want to share that reading program with other parents.

Wondershare DVD Slideshow Software Review & GIVEAWAY ~ 5 winners on Mom Loves 2 Read

Just in time for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents' Day and all those fun summer vacations - what can you do with all the photos?
Here is one idea . . .

Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder Deluxe is so easy to use and has a simple easy Standard mode and an Advanced mode with all kinds of fun "goodies" to add and personalize your creation.

Great for making gifts for Grandparents, family and friends - Graduation parties, Birthdays, Weddings and so much more!

I like how easy it was to use, easy to upload my photos straight from my computer harddrive into the program - and make a unique and fun DVD slideshow to show family. I used the advanced Mode so I could see all the different features that were available.

It is available for both Mac and Windows computers - and it a great resource for those who are not very good at the IT stuff, and other Mommies like me who can do a little but still haven't figured out how to use Photoshop - lol.

Join the FUN with a Colorful Review & Giveaway on Mom Loves 2 Read

Colortime Crafts and Markers make travel, crafts and playdates more fun than ever.  They have items for Girls, Boys, Scouts, Holidays, T-shirts, Backpacks, Pillowcases and much  much more!  Check out their products to color and their Permanent Fabric Markers!  Such fun to be had for little cost!

Check out this adorable "green" bag that we received for this review.  My youngest Daughter - Lydia decided it would look good "splashed" with color.  Unfortunately she then took it into the backyard to play with and left it out all night during a storm so it didn't look nice enough to take a picture of. (Though it is washable and is currently in the laundry getting cleaned up!)

This is a fun bag that you can have your kiddos personalize just for you.  Let them show their style with this tote bag with permanent, non-toxic fabric markers. Having a playgroup, class, youth organization, or scout group color this 100% cotton muslin tote bag is a great way to encourage recycling and environmental awareness. It makes the perfect customized gift for grandparent or makes a handy way to carry library books, gardening tools, or toys! Color this 15" X 16" tote bag with Colortime's permanent fabric markers!

I love the quality of the bag - it is not one of those flimsy poorly made type but is constructed well with strong seems and made to last (even through storms apparently). There are MANY fun things to find at ColorTime Crafts like personalized pillowcases that are great for sleepover parties!  Or backpacks and T-shirts to color for family travel or just for fun.

ColorTime Markers work perfectly on any fabric.  They are Permanent Markers for fabrics!  They are larger than regular markers and made to last longer so you can get lots of repeated use from them!  But remember, they are PERMANENT - so they are harder to get off little hands than those washable, so make sure to keep watch over younger artists while using these markers or you may end up with more than just a cute bag . . . If your little one(s) is anything like mine, they love to color on things other than paper or fabric -

Thankfully this didn't happen with our ColorTime Markers!

Do you like the Hunger Games? Then check out my Double Header Review on Mom Loves 2 Read

The Girl Who Was on Fire
Completely Unauthorized ~ Your Favorite Authors on Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games Trilogy

Katniss Everdeen's adventures may have come to an end, but her story continues to blaze in the hearts of millions worldwide.

In The Girl Who Was on Fire, thirteen YA authors take you back to Panem with moving, dark, and funny pieces on Katniss, the Games, Gale and Peeta, reality TV, survival, and more. From the trilogy's darker themes of violence and social control to fashion and weaponry, the collection's exploration of the Hunger Games reveals exactly how rich, and how perilous, protagonist Katniss' world really is.

• How does the way the Games affect the brain explain Haymitch's drinking, Annie's distraction, and Wiress' speech problems?
• What does the rebellion have in common with the War on Terror?
• Why isn't the answer to "Peeta or Gale?" as interesting as the question itself?
• What should Panem have learned from the fates of other hedonistic societies throughout history and what can we?

The Girl Who Was On Fire covers all three books in the Hunger Games trilogy.

My Review :
This is a fascinating book. I loved reading the first book in the Hunger Games Trilogy. The second book was ok, but the third was disturbing, especially the ending. It was interesting hearing all the points of views about the Hunger Games included in this book. I was interested in reading this book to see what authors thought of the series. Each essay gives the reader a lot to think on. I liked seeing how different people viewed the same book(s) in many different ways. I thought this book was an interesting idea, but it's not one I'll read more than once. It is worth reading for those who Love the Hunger Games books and movie(s). But if you are not a fan of the Hunger Games, then this book is definitely not for you.

The Panem Companion
The UnOfficial Guide to Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games

-What does Panem look like?
-How does Panem define race?
-How do Panem’s districts reflect the major themes of the trilogy?
-What allusions to our world are found in Panem names like Finnick, Johanna, Beetee, Cinna, Everdeen, and Mellark?

Go deeper into the home of the Hunger Games with the creator of the best-known fan map of Panem.

The Panem Companion gives fresh insight into Suzanne Collins’ trilogy by looking at the world of the Hunger Games and the forces that kept its citizens divided since the Dark Days. With a blend of academic insight and the true passion of a fan, V. Arrow explores how Panem could have evolved from the America we know today and uses textual clues to piece together Panem’s beliefs about class, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, and more. Includes an extensive name lexicon and color-illustrated unofficial map of Panem.

My Review :
This book really did not add much to my knowledge of Panem and the thirteen districts from what I had read in the books.   It is an insight into what could happen in our world to cause American to turn into a Panem type society.  The information and ideas in this book seemed to base most of the reasons for Panem turning out like it did to Race issues.  I really didn't care as much for this book as I thought I would when reading the blurb.

Fun Family Vacation ~ Some Good, Some Bad, Some Unbelievable - check it out on Mom Loves 2 Read

For our kids' Spring Break from school, my husband and I decided to take them to St. Louis, MO for a short weekend trip.  My husband booked our hotel room using his Holiday Inn Points from all his travel with his job.  We planned to find a fun activity to do once we arrived on Friday, then spend the evening letting the kids swim in the hotel pool.  We planned to go to the Zoo on Saturday, early enough to get there when it opened, then head home on Sunday.
Well, all good plans do not always work out in the expected way.  Sometimes they turn out better . . . many times, especially when traveling with kids, they turn out much worse.

On Friday, we left the house almost exactly on time - super start to our vacation.  The kids actually behaved quite well all the way to St. Louis. *Click here For some of my Family Travel Tips*

Awesome Breast Cancer Awareness Shirt ~ Mom Loves 2 Read Review

Awesome Breast Cancer Awareness Shirt From Breast-Cancer-Tshirts.com

I was offered a chance to review a Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirt from Breast-Cancer-Tshirts.com
through Tomoson.com.  I was able to choose the size I wanted for this review.  I chose a Men's Large so it would be a nice roomy shirt for me to wear.  The shirt is a nice quality 100% cotton T-shirt that did not shrink when washed - which is nice!  These Breast Cancer T-shirts are available for purchase on the website in over 300 sizes, styles and color combinations.

My shirt is comfortable and fun to wear.  Although I usually don't like wearing a White T-shirt, I love the fact that I am supporting Breast Cancer Awareness when I wear this one.  If you are looking for a way to show your support this is a great way to go.

Some of the other designs I really like are:

REAL MEN WEAR PINK DISTRESSED       SOCK IT TO CANCER    PEACE LOVE HOPE

There are so many designs to choose from, that I have a hard time deciding which one I want to purchase next!  If you are looking for other fun T-shirt styles, the website also has shirts in a huge variety of categories like:  Dog shirts, Redneck shirts, Hunting, Military, Bacon shirts, "I'd rather be", and so many more including Personalized T-shirt options.  So check out Breast-Cancer-Tshirts.com for great T-shirts for the whole family!

Wordless Wednesday ~ Linky on Mom Loves 2 Read

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday on Mom Loves 2 Read!
To kick off my new participation in the Wordless Wednesday Link Up
Hosted by BigFoot Tribe
I thought I would share some fun photos that remind me of March and Spring time.

This first picture is from our trip to Hawaii in January of 2010.  We took our son, Josh with us and he absolutely loved it.  The flowers were gorgeous and the tropical plants were so beautiful everywhere we went.

This second picture is of my son  Josh, he "crossed over" this month from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts
and as it was stated he is "no longer a boy, but on his way to becoming a man" ~
not sure I'm ready for that yet - lol

And finally, in celebration of this past Easter Weekend.
A picture of a risen Jesus leaving the tomb.
His is risen indeed.
