I started by putting the SHMILY coins on top of my children's pillows - they loved racing up to bed to see who had a SHMILY coin each night. When one was found, I gathered them all together and told them something that I love about each one of them, and one "extra" thing about the child who had the coin on his or her pillow. Following this little talk with hugs and kisses, my kids each told me that they feel special being singled out to receive the SHMILY coin.
I hid one in my husband's truck (taped in an envelope to his steering wheel) so he could find it when he went to work in the morning - he said it was a nice surprise and he thought about me all day long when he saw the coin sitting on his desk at work.
I love being able to share my love for my husband and kids using these fun SHMILY coins - I plan to also give one away to each of my siblings (and sibling-in-laws) for them to use in their families too. It is a small, simple item, but carries such a wonderful message to whoever receives one.
