Review ~ KritterKreep by J. D. Gordon

About the Book :
Andy Biggs new life in the "burbs" is about to take a turn for the worse. An uninvited guest has moved into the stately old Victorian home he shares with his mom, new stepdad and baby sister. This weird little demon in a zoot suit has nothing but mischief on its mind and threatens to destroy Andy's home, school life and even his sanity. And when Andy enlists the aid of a pretty girl with a mysterious past, his whole world turns upside down in a battle of good vs. evil against the dreaded "Kritterkreep."

My Review :
I found KritterKreep to be a very strange book.  It was creepy in some parts, and might be a good story for middle grade to preteen kids.  I didn't really care for it and found it hard to keep reading.  Although the story was written pretty well, I just couldn't get into the story and my love a details was constantly being challenged.  There were several parts where I found myself rereading parts to figure out what was going on.
I would not suggest this book for younger readers as there is quite a bit of scary stuff in it.  At one point the main character is put in a mental ward of the hospital because he tells his parents what is going on.  I just feel the theme of this book would be better for older kids 13 and up.  If I had to rate this on a 1 to 5 scale, I'd probably give it a 3.
Although I personally did not like this book, I always recommend my readers try a book for themselves.  All reviews are my personal opinion, and my likes will differ from other people's.
