Passport 2 Purity ~ Heart to Heart time with your teen or preteen~ #REVIEW #PASSPORT2PURITY #FLYBY

Our children’s innocence is under attack, and parents cannot win the battle with a single awkward "birds and the bees" talk or a strict set of rules. The  Passport2Purity Getaway Kit  helps build heart-to-heart communication between you and your pre-teen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare them for the turbulent years ahead.

With the Passport2Purity Getaway Kit we as parents have the opportunity to take our teen or preteen aside and spend one-on-one time helping them see the dangers ahead and teaching them ways to deal with what is to come.  I took the time to look through the materials in the
Getaway Kit and read through portions of the Tour Guide for Parents.  I have found it difficult to talk to my preteens about some of the struggles they will face in the next few years.  With the materials provided in this Kit, it makes it easier for parents to share from the heart, guide our teens and grow closer throughout the weekend (or weeks) spent together.

My daughter and I have just begun our journey.  We started with the first lesson, and decided that although we enjoyed our time together, we wanted to wait and invite our best friends (another Mother-Daughter team) to join us on a weekend journey.  So, we are waiting to complete our Kit until we can set up a weekend together with them.  Already we are excited about the time we have and will spend together discussing purity, Christian morals and strengthening our Mother-Daughter bond.  I hope to plan another weekend shortly after for my husband and son to do this Kit even though our son and I have discussed some of the issues dealt with in the Passport2Purity (P2P) materials.
From what I have already read, listened to and experienced; I HIGHLY recommend the Passport2Purity Getaway Kit for any parents or grandparents of children ages 10 - 18.  It is a wonderful guide that opens the lines of communication and truly brings the parent and child closer together to fight for our kids' innocence and moral integrity!

It is hard for me to believe that my two oldest (ages 8 and 5 in this photo) are going to be 14 and 11 this summer.  Their childlike innocence has slowly been corrupted by the world's views on sex, relationships, parenting, etc.  With the P2P materials, I hope to stop the corruption in it's damaging path and restore their wonder and the strong parent/child relationships that will help them continue to grow in Grace, Purity and Faith in spite of what is yet to come in the next several years.

Once these two have completed the Passport 2 Purity series, I have another little one to take on the same journey in just a few short years.  Where once she was Mommy's little helper . . . .

She is now a rambunctious 7 year old who has already experienced bullying, ridicule, and other problematic issues with peers at school.

Passport2Purity from FamilyLife is a good start for our preteens, but it is up to us as parents to continue teaching Christian morals and reinforcing our parent/child relationship with our kids.
After we complete the Getaway Kit, I will be happy to update you as to how our experience was!  In the meantime I highly recommend checking out the links below and watch the short video provided to give you more insight into what this program teaches.

About P2P:
Your child begins the journey into adolescence in a world of sexting, bullying, online stalking and moral defiance.  Innocence is under attack, and you cannot win the battle with a single awkward talk or a strict set of rules.  The primary defense for your child is a strong relationship with you and with God.  FamilyLife developed Passport2Purity (P2P) to assist you in building heart-to-heart communication with your preteen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare him or her for the turbulent years ahead.  Through the shared listening experience, object lessons and guided conversations of a P2P weekend getaway, you can set your son or daughter on a journey of moral integrity - and strengthen the bond between you.  It is designed to be used by a mother and daughter or a father and son when the child is a preteen.  It is suggested that the materials be completed over a weekend away from home, as the child may be more open to discussing the topics away from his or her normal environment.  If this isn't possible, the material can be completed over a period of four or five weeks.
