Review ~ The Christopher Chronicles

An adorable look at what a typical 5 year old says:

The Christopher Chronicles
by Kenya G. Johnson
Illustrated by Najah Clemmons

This is the first book in the series of The Christopher Chronicles (TCC). This book includes 99 "Christopherisms" (affectionately named by Facebook friends) from Age 5. In the words of my editor

"This book is for every adult who has ever been left speechless by a child and had to hold back their laughter."

My Review:
I completely agree!  This book is too cute for words.  I know my kiddos have said some similar things.  As I read and re-read through this book (kept picking it up, it is too cute to leave alone) I compared some of the Christopherisms to the things my kids have said.  I just wish I'd had the foresight to print a book or at least write down some of the amazing things my kiddos have come up with over the years (great job Kenya!)

I really enjoyed reading this adorable book.  I love the idea of
getting a little peek into what goes on in the mind of a 5 year old.  I read a few of the pages to my kids, and they really got a kick out of it too.  A great book for adults to remember when their kids were small, and a great book for reading when I need a little humor in my day!  Love it!

Teasers:

On page 1:
“While eating chicken, Christopher said: ‘ Mom is this REAL chicken ?’ I said ‘Yes.’ He said, “ So this is a DEAD chicken ?’  My response, ‘Yes son.’ After a moment ‘ Is BBQ chicken DEAD, too ?’

Two of my personal favorites:
"I am definitely too busy to take a nap."

"I was reading something and I held my index finger up to hush Christopher as he began to speak.  He said, "What are you doing that for, mom?  You're not on the phone.""

There are many more cute "Christopherisms" in this book.  It is a great conversation starter, and perfect for a laugh anytime!  For more information on this book and the author, visit these sites:
