Gold Label Coconut Oil Review

 Tropical Traditions

America’s source for coconut oil!
Gold Label ® Virgin Coconut Oil - Our Purest Unrefined Coconut Oil!

Gold Label Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

Characteristics of Our Gold Label ® Virgin Coconut Oil

This Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is a truly unrefined coconut oil. This coconut oil is made on Mt. Banahaw and surrounding areas from organic coconuts. Coconuts are used fresh (within 24-48 hours of harvest) from small family farms on
Mt. Banahaw and other rural places in Quezon Province, the coconut capital of the Philippines. Only the highest quality coconuts are hand-picked from each harvest. The volcanic soil of Mt. Banahaw makes these organic coconuts some of the most nutritionally rich coconuts in the world! Testing done in independent laboratories reveals higher levels of phenolic antioxidants than other coconut oils. The fresh coconut meat is shredded (wet milled), and then cold-pressed using the water from inside the coconuts to make coconut milk. The milk is then allowed to sit for about half a day, while the oil naturally separates from the heavier water. The oil is then filtered from the curds (coconut solids). No chemical or high-heat treatment is used, and this oil contains no trans fatty acids. We do NOT mass produce this oil. It is made by families who are coconut farmers using old-fashioned traditional methods that have been used in the Philippines for hundreds of years. Our coconut trees and family producers are certified organic according to strict USDA standards. The families who produce the oil are also trained according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and re-certified each year. This high-grade Virgin Coconut Oil has a long shelf life due to the high antioxidant properties.

My Review :
I was not sure at first how to even use Coconut Oil, so I checked out the FAQ's on the website:   I found that there are SO many ways to use it!  Check out this Blog Post!
Gold Label is the highest quality Coconut Oil and can be used in 100's of recipes!  I tried this Gold Label Coconut Oil in brownies and Muffins in place of Vegetable Oil.  The brownies were so Yummy and have a hint of coconut flavor to them!  My kids ate them faster than usual (and so did I), and I felt better serving them since the Coconut Oil is much healthier than vegetable oil!  I plan to continue using Gold Label Coconut Oil in my baked goods!
I even found one website where a blogger used the coconut oil on her hair as a conditioner and on her face as a moisturizer!  I'd not even thought of that - coconut oil has so many uses!

Tropical Traditions has 3 different types of Coconut Oil, and all of them can be used as regular cooking oils. They can also be used as part or all butter and shortening substitutes. All three coconut oils are different from each other in some ways, so knowing which one will be best for a particular dish is always helpful.
The best and highest quality coconut oil is the wonderfully flavorful Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil . This oil is the most nutritious, but not the most consistent in taste. It is handmade and has a strong, unique coconut smell and taste that will vary slightly from batch to batch. Therefore it is not the best cooking oil if you want a consistent taste. The oil usually retains most of its natural "coconutty-ness" during cooking (e.g. stovetop cooking) but when baked almost all of the strong coconut taste will dissipate.
